I was nineteen when photography happened. The love wasn’t instantaneous, but it grew on me. I’ve always been the quiet observer, and the camera became an extension of myself – a teller of my stories, an expression of feelings that the introverted me could never put into words. I soon realized that if you can make a career out of something you love, you should. So I went to photography school, learnt the art, and have been shooting professionally ever since. It’s been a crazy four years, but I haven’t looked back.
But my adventure doesn’t stop there. I fell in love for the second time, met my husband, got married, and moved from my home in Chennai, India to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It’s been a roller coaster ride, and I couldn’t be happier.
Now, since I have two places to call home, I undertake assignments in both India and Malaysia. I shoot spaces, food, and people. Over the last few years I have had the pleasure of working with some big brands such as Calvin Klein, French Connection, ITC. and had my work published in magazines such as Inc. India, CTO Forum and IT Next.
Apart from commercial assignment I also cover weddings. I enjoy sharing my clients special day with them, it makes wedding photography fun and special for me too. Here is a sneak peak at my wedding portfolio: www.aahanamahtani.com/weddings
